I wanted that serenity radiates with the character, that it literally irradiates the happiness of the experiment of life which it had met on his length, very long path. For that, I put the question essential with all the pélerins only, which I met on the path: their motivation, their search... and I soaked with their experiment.
Etonnament, these people had a whole a advanced age, some took stock of life, others tried to forget a disappeared being, but all sought to meet themselves, and to be exceeded in the difficulty. I tried to absorb all their states of heart, and to transfuse them in my imaginary character...
The history of " my pilgrim ", is behind him... It is on the path of the return, and makes a halt of rest in front of the Priory of Cayac, old relay of Compostelle since the XII° Siècle. It is a man of North, face high, long busqué nose, he seems fair... He very lived, very faced, very included/understood, he tells his experiment of life...

I wanted his smile appaisant and his fraternal, tolerant and understanding glance. To show the difficulty of the pèlerinnage, I exaggerated the knotty veins of his arms and his legs, his deformed feet...
For the small history, know that after 3 months of work on the clay model, the skeleton broke down... astonishing Pas: 3 tons of clay... Result the pilgrim had yielded into two, like massing its feet... Was needed the recharpenter interior... and all to start again...
For the work of foundry itself, it was necessary to weld together: 35 pieces of bronze, to work over again all the weldings with the grinding stone and the graver, to give again the smoothness of the features and the expression... in short I worked with a team of 13 workmen, bourdonnante like a hive, with them for 8 months...
